Corinth is often the first city visitors experience as they travel into Mississippi’s northeast corner. Historic buildings, landmarks, and memorials help visitors dive into Corinth’s complex history as one of the most significant transportation hubs of the Civil War. This significance was derived from Corinth’s position as the famous crossroads of the Memphis & Charleston and Mobile & Ohio railroads.
If you are interested in exploring Corinth history, the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center is the perfect place to start. This massive $9.5-million center is packed with exhibits that delve into Civil War railroads, training, fortifications, African American experiences, and how the war changed America.
Corinth’s dining establishments offer everything from classic Southern home cooking to fare from Italy, Thailand, and beyond. One of Corinth’s most legendary places to eat is Borroum’s Drug Store and Soda Fountain , the state’s oldest soda fountain, and home to the locally famous slugburger. Also, check out Abe’s Grill for a shake, corn dog, and some of the best biscuits on Highway 72.
